I have never restored a brush but I got this as a bonus with a razor I bought. I have started to give it a bit of a buff and think it might be nice to put a new knot in, buff it up some more and redo the lettering. I don't want to spend too much on a knot (badger)and I was looking on eBay. There seem to be some reasonably priced knots from China but I have no idea if they would be any good. I was wondering if any of you guys have bought from China and could recommend a seller or perhaps from somewhere else. Being in Australia postage from US generally costs more than the item unfortunately. Any tips on restoration would also be appreciated.

I tend to prefer their "finest" rather than the "silvertip" as it has more backbone, while still mantaining the extra softness of the tips. But this of course is for the complete brushes. I guess that when restoring/making a brush you can play a little with the loft, to induce more backbone in a silvertip... but I'm just guessing, I'm no expert at all.

Maybe I should consider the finest then. I'm going to give it some thought and order soon.

They don't stink either like many new badger knots.

Have you found your brush yet? No hurries, it will take at least two weeks to get here/there.

Fantastic choice going with the 2 band from Vigsahving! The best brush I have is a 2 band from them. Amazing value for the money.
