In today's shave I tried something that I've been wanting to try for a while now, and that is stropping a GEM industrial CS blade on CrOX to see if would help it be a little sharper and smooth out the shave a bit. So before my shave I took a new Gem CS blade and stropped it 20 times (with my Bes-Tiz blade stropper) on my balsa strop with chromium oxide, wiped the blade clean and then stropped it 30 laps on linen then another 30 on leather. Smooth cutting, no tugging! I may be able to use these 400 blades after all! I have never been able to complete a shave with this blades before. Today I did a two pass shave, with the aggressive 1924, and it was smooth as silk!

Cool. Just 399 more to go. Yep, that's a lot of stropping in linuxguile's future, but a man has to do what a man has got to do.
