Jayaruh #292: First Lathering jrshaving.blogspot.com/2018/05/jayaruh-292.htmlI got this High Mountain White badger knot in exchange for setting a boar knot in a Rubberset 400 for a fellow shaver. I made this handle on May 22 with this knot in mind. I did not take pictures of the progress, so this is the finished product. I had a piece glued up already: cocobolo on the top and zebra wood on the bottom. So, with this knot in mind, all I had to do was turn it. I plan to use Jayaruh #292 next week, so today, I put it through its first lathering with Soap Commander Renewal. That is my practice with all my natural hair brushes. Here is how it went. Ready to go: Soap Commander Renewal, Turkish cup, JR#292. Wet the brush, loaded for 25 seconds. Making lather Beautiful lather. I let it sit for a while. Very rich, thick lather. Rinsed out and drying for Monday's first shave.

Amazing piece of work, Jim! This must be one of the most beautiful brushes I've ever seen. Love the "double wood" effect.

Veddy nice. I knoe nothing of this knot though. Looks nice. I shaved with the #292 for the first time today. It did a fine job of face lathering my C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream. It has a little scritch to it but not much. It is on deck all week. Tomorrow, it tackles the Tabac.
