I've found the hickory handled 2 bit version to be far superior to the fiberglass handled version and the double bit is far superior to the single bit. www.amazon.com/Truper-30524-2-Pound-Michigan-Hickory/dp/B000KL6KM6It allows one to have an edge for heavy growth and an edge for lighter growth shave days. When I use the shave axe I prefer a porcupine quill brush and Octagon soap for lather. I know the link says it's laundry soap, but it's really all purpose, from floors to high quality shaves. www.amazon.com/Octagon-Purpose-Laundry-Soap-Colgate/dp/B000GCOLQ6BTW, don't ask me how I know that one only drops the shave axe once per porcelain sink. Note to self: I need to get that carpel tunnel fixed. I've moved to a chainsaw for shaving because it requires 2 hands and I won't go through any more sink installations. I don't see any changes in the skin care with the chainsaw shave. I know what you're thinking... one would think that there might be but I use safety chain in my saw.

I didn't like shaving with an axe. It's too hard get under the nose.

That does not look very efficient, he should have used a axe made out of carbon steel. Im not impressed, i think one of those old electric fish filet knifes would shave better.
