Hello everyone, and thanks for all the love - I'm touched! (blush)
As mentioned above, for the last year I've been in the process of relocating from my beach bungalow in San Diego to a larger home in the northern part of the county. This involved buying a house, selling a house, and since my wife and I both work from home, relocating two offices. Next came extensive renovations, which were just recently completed.
I've barely had time to shave, let alone participate in the forums. I still lurk a bit.
I now have room for a shave den, or at least a "shave corner," to display some of my collection.
A closer look:
Also, a while before the move I had discovered the Weck Sextoblade. I'd always had an interest in straight razors, but a straight felt really awkward in my hand - I could easily picture myself accidentally lopping off an earlobe or the tip of my nose.
The Sextoblade is a safety razor in a straight razor form factor, using disposable blades and with a removable guard bar (there are also open comb variants) - sort of a straight razor with training wheels.
After a few months of using a Sextoblade my awkwardness disappeared (well, mostly) and I "graduated" to a Feather Artist Club SS (why not - I already had a bunch of blades). I started looking at "real" straight razors, and just like that I'm down another rabbit hole.
So, these days I'm shaving mostly with straight razors and my collection of straights is growing, although at a dozen or so razors it is still dwarfed by my SE collection.
I haven't abandoned SE razors - I still reach for one when I'm pressed for time and just want a great shave with no drama.
I've also noticed that since I started using straight razors, my SE razor technique has improved significantly.

You're alive! Glad to hear you're doing well my friend. I'm surprised to see all those synthetic brushes in there, I figured you for a boar guy. At least click a like button every once in a while so we know you're still out there somewhere!

Nice post Bob. Impressive collection of gear.
I couldn't help but notice. That extremely cute puppy! Is that a Golden Retriever? I thought Golden Retrievers got the white muzzle from old age, but maybe not. Is it a mixed breed?

If we are talking about the avitar.
