Any tips/hints/secrets that would help??
Thanks in advance and enjoy those shaves

Get a boar instead, from Zenith.

I have never had experience with Zenith but I do have two Vie Long brushes, the Cremo branded one and a 4212 barber. Both work very well. I would be biased but Vie Long has very good products.

It's also 35% mane and 65% tail hair.

The picture above is the one I have, except it is cremo branded. It is the same thing. I'll never go back to badger after my horse brush. I forced myself to use only the horse for 2weeks, now I have a much better appreciation of them.

It's also 35% mane and 65% tail hair. That is a good mix I think that is pretty much the same knot I have.

I just ordered this brush. I've been thinking about a horse hair brush for a while. The price on this brush is so reasonable, I had to buy one. This place is a Petri dish of Acquisition Disorders.

I still say get a nice boar, there's a good reason most vintage brushes were boar instead of badger or horse.
