Hello from sunny Kentucky, well it would be if the remnants of Gordon would leave us alone. Kentucky is the home of beautiful horses and fast women, the brownest of brown liquors (bourbon, yum) and me.
Being a bit of a wet shaving devote / aficionado I started watching these U-Toob videos (don't want the algorithms to find me) actually just being silly. I stumbled on some people using single edge razors like you use to scrape windows with, actually financially I wish they were but you would butcher yourself, so I looked some more and found wound up trying a couple of razors that used those feather blades. Now don't get me wrong I've got an Alumigoose v2 and a RR Black Hawk and they are good razors but the hardware ain't cheap folks. My results with them were not exactly sterling but it could just be me I mean darn it took me a couple of months to warm up to Arko and not it is my go to at least what I measure all soaps against, despite owning dozens of soaps. Eventually I got out on eBuy and got a GEM 1912 and 3 versions of the Micromatic. After trying a GEM Personna PTFE (only ones I own so far) in my Micromatic clog pruf I just about put them away. I put that blade in my 1912 and that did it. Honestly it could have been that like a Feather blade that first shave was just really harsh or I was applying pressure I don't know, but I shaved with nothing else for 2 solid weeks plus on that one blade in the 1912 and I liked it. Dang, I paid 6.50 for the razor and that was the delivered price. The blades are not cheap, so I guess I'll have to go find out how you guys manage the cost. Heck, I did buy 100 of the darn things and already gave 5 of them away, hahaha.
I guess now I'm a convert to the SE kingdom and Fuzzy has not led me astray.
Fuzzy sent me,
Roy Smith
(next post I'll explain where my screen name Roymond58 came from)
