This is 100% correct. 3 Facet and .009 thickness seem determine suitability to shaving. I have asked AccuTec for complete breakdown of their offerings suitable for shaving. I have no response as of yet. They list a “Gem Scientific” on their site that seems interesting. Carbon steel, .009 thickness, 3 facet, steel backing. I will post a review if they are suitable. The blades they list as “Gem Scientific” are aluminum backed in 10 and 100 blade dispensers. I suspect they market them as “Gem Scientific” because they are unwrapped, so there would be no chance of contamination of cardboard particles on the blades in laboratory situations. I have the 100 blade pop-up dispenser of those blades and there's nothing on the package that says “Gem Scientific” or anything that would signify there's anything special about those blades. I don't see why there would be any difference when it comes to shaving between these and other carbon steel blades with the same specs. They work for me, I just used a fresh blade in a ER 1912 they other day. That makes sense. So just a regular carbon blade, sans cardboard sleeve and a handy dispenser. Good info. It sure sounded sexy...

Is there a part number or anything to search with these or just look for the name???

You have search around for the blades in the dispensers. I think Ted Pella sells the 10 blade dispensers. There's a seller on eBay whose currently selling the 100 blade dispensers (62-0325) for $21.45 shipped GEM® Scientific, Aluminum Back, Dispenser 100 Part No. 62-0325 atblades.com/products/single-edge/009-single-edge-blade-20/GEM® Scientific, Aluminum Back, Dispenser 10 Part No. 62-0314 atblades.com/products/single-edge/009-single-edge-blade-17/
