I went ahead and bit the bullet on these 2 brushes. The Wilkinson sword brush because I heard good things about it across the street. The other, just because it looked cool. I will let y'all know how it works out. Attachments:

From what I can tell, the Wilkinson brush is decent quality. I figure it is on par with the green handled VDH badger. The gillette is a synthetic, I think. Either way I think they will both work very well for the price.

The Gillette is synthetic. It has a nylon knot. Good old-fashioned stingy synthetic brush😁👌

Its not like I actually need any more brushes, but at the same time, you can never have 2 many. I will do a review on them when they come in, and of course they will be featured in a shave video!

The Wilkinson is a good brush. Excellent price/quality ratio. And better still is the Wilkinson badger. I would love to get my hands on a Gillette like that. I love my nylon brushes. 😁

Quick update. zeri I just recently got the Gillette brush in. Boy oh boy it smelled to high heavens! It was almost like a burnt plastic smell, and that would figure since it is a synthetic brush. I submerged it in less than a quarter inch of water, and then sprayed a bit of soap inside the cup for about 3 hours. No more smell. I will use it for my shave this week and report how it goes.

Well, so far only the Gillette brush has arrived. Not the best, but adequate. It will be good for creams, but almost impossible for the hard soaps. Just too floppy. It did have a smell that almost made me sick. Smelled like burnt plastic, but a soak in warm water and some Osage Rub, and the smell was gone.

Is it scratchy?

zeri no, not scratchy, but not as soft as my synthetic brush I got at Sally's beauty supply for 10 bucks. It's cool to have, and I like it, but I won't use it in the regular rotation.
