Monday, May 21, 2012 Prep: Hot shower Lather: DVH "Extra fris" - face lather Brush: Semogue 830 Razor: Valet Auto Strop VC1 Blade: Gem PTFE (8); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum (reform) A little surprised to notice some slight tugging on the ATG pass this morning. I think my lather might have been a bit off so that could be it. Anyway, that's it for this comparison as the new La Famiglia soaps are set to arrive today so I'll be using those for a while.

Wednesday, May 23, 2012Prep: Hot shower Lather: RazoRock La Famiglia Cumba Cheech - face lather Brush: Semogue Owners Club boar Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: Gem PTFE (1); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum La Famiglia Rocks my Razor as well as my face and neck. I can't get over how soft and smooth my face feels after using this soap. My skin is really liking the high quality coconut oil here and the scents are impressive. I've not lathered anything else that continued to smell better as you lathered it. Both Zi' Peppino and Cumba Cheech are here to stay. Even after lathering my wife's legs with Don Marco last night I began to appreciate that one even more too. This stuff is scary good. So good it's scary cause you might not want to use anything else!

Well, I'm up to 14 shaves on this blade and it's STILL performing great. I'll see if I can stretch it until Sunday which is the day on which I normally switch out blades.

Thursday, May 24, 2012 Prep: Hot shower Lather: RazoRock La Famiglia Nonno Michelino - face lather Brush: Semogue 830 Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: Gem PTFE (2); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum (reform) 3 days straight with La Famiglia and my appreciation for these soaps is only growing. I can't believe how soft they leave my face feeling. The only thing I can knock these soaps on so far is that they aren't extremely moisturizing. In my book though, a soaps job is not to moisturize and that's what I have a high quality AS for. This is about the only way that I can tell this is a veggie formulation instead of tallow. Tallow based soaps give my skin a bit more moisture before the AS is applied. The sandalwood scent was ok. Not bad but not something I'd replace once finished either.
