Friday May 25
Razor: GEM Jr Blade: GEM Stainless Brush: Dollar store boar Lather: Palmolive Shave stick A/S: Alum, Lucido splash, Aloe Vera Gel
DFS, but it was surprisingly uncomfortable considering the equipment. Except for the brush, this combo usually gives me great results with no irritation. This time I got a few nicks and some burn...

Friday AM 05-25-2012Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil Simpsons Astor 90th Anniversary Super brush Omega shaving cream (I forget from whom I got this sample, but thanks) Schick M1 Adjustable razor Personna PTFE blade (8) Paul Sebastian aftershave A great shave overall. I love the Astor. I'm not fond of the scent of the Omega, but it lathers well. And I can always count on the Schick for a smooth, comfortable shave. The aftershave is a little too "perfumey" for my nose, but SWMBO likes it. Happy weekend, everyone!

Saturday AM 05-26-2012Becker scuttle Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil Somerset Simpson Colonel X2L Best brush QCS Briar LE shaving cream soap Schick M1 Adjustable razor Personna PTFE blade (9) Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar aftershave balm Another great shave. The Colonel is an old friend, and the combination of the Briar and Trafalgar was quite nice. The Personna blade just keeps on ticking; I'll use it one more time.

Gem Junior "The Parade" (the one with the fat black handle) CVS(I think) carbon steel blade (5th shave) Cade witch hazel
Best shave with a junior to date. Like the fat handle.

Sunday AM 05-27-2012Becker scuttle Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil Somerset Simpson Emperor 3 Super brush Penhaligon's Lords shaving cream Gem Damaskeene razor Gem SS PTFE blade (5) Dolce & Gabbana aftershave A great shave. The Lords is the best shaving cream or soap I've ever used, and the Damaskeene is my clear favorite now of the standard SE razors. The D&C, while slightly cloying, has a nice elegance.

Razor: Schick Injector G6 Blade: NOS US-made Schick Brush: Turkish Horse hair Lather: Godrej Menthol Mist A/S: Alum, Lucido splash, Aloe Vera Gel
Great shave! I love the results of an injector shave, even though I miss the heft of my other SE razors when I use one...

DFS+ I like this razor a lot, but the GEM Jr. is still my favorite 1912 version...

Gem Junior (slim black handle) Carbon steel blade (6th and last shave) Arko (first try, not bad. I can live with the smell) Omega Pro brush Booster Iced Lime
Blade on its last legs inhibited my shave quality. It still worked out. Don't worry.
