Was killing some time at the local antique mall today and dug up some good vintage gear. Nothing I was really needing or willing to open my wallet on, but nice to see this stuff in the wild, nonetheless. - 5-6 Gem MMOC
- 2 Schick Type G
- 1 Rolls Imperial
- 1 Gillette Techmatic
- 15-20 unmentionables
- Countless mugs (mainly Old Spice)
- 15-20 brushes
Then I saw it...
...
Pushed to the back of a display case, with some other random items strewn across it...
...
Could that really be a Gem wedge set, with stropper, strop, soap stick and travel brush?! And is that a mirror in the lid of the case? I've never seen one of these before. Looked to only be able to accept wedge blades, no current SE blades.
The dealer was VERY proud of this set, and the price reflected it, so I did not walk out with this beauty unfortunately. Can anyone shed some light on what I found?

@vintagelife would be the best person I could think of. I'm not telling you to buy all those other razors or brushes, what I am telling you is, I got crisp 20 dollar bills.... I wish I could find this stuff I. The wild! I think there is a cartel of old guys (no offense fuzzy) that must come in day to buy up all the razors.

That's a 1901 "New Gem" In the "case no. 10" configuration. The mirror id's that one. Nice find. I haven't seen a lather catcher in the wild yet. Thanks for taking that pic. Its cool to see it as displayed. That mirror in the lid was friggin awesome!

Only 1 of the wedge blades looks to be present. I could only see 4-5 wedge blade slots, but I'm assuming there's 7 throughout the case for a week set. If anyone is interested in this set, I can pass on contact info. Too rich for my blood, sadly.
