I have really been lusting for an ER Streamline, but just can’t seem to find one that isn’t mind numbingly expensive. I decided to build a one off in the meantime (probably two or three off, but I digress). I started with a user grade ER 1924 and purchased a SS handle with a somewhat similar design to the Streamline. It looked great online and wasn’t crazy expensive but upon arrival I noticed that it is heavy as heck. I’m guessing the balance is going to be wonky but we shall see how she works.

Yeah, that is a big old handle for an ER24. Let us know how it handles.

Very interested in hearing how it handles -- sorry, cracked myself up!!! Oh wait, I think Jim beat me to that joke! Seriously, I obtained a Shovelhead a while back -- I haven't tried it yet -- and I'm sure it'll shave fine with its current handle, but I also have some extra unmentionable handles and some 10/32 set screws, so i know that one day I'll probably do some handle experimentation myself.

I think the Star unmentionable ( OS was here) handle is the pick for that faux Streamline look.

I think the Star unmentionable ( OS was here) handle is the pick for that faux Streamline look. At least put it on a Star 1912! I prefer original handles, unfortunately some of my razors were franken when I got 'em or a couple of times I only got the head, so I made do with what I had. .

It doesn't live on the Shoveler, just brought it out for show. Unless a photographer from Anal Razor Collector Monthly is showing up, I sometimes prefer to use a handle which works best on the razor I'm shaving with (which is the Karve for this Shovelhead). I typically do store them with the original so things are in order when the photographer shows up.

Careful, you may just get the Cartel involved. Ask Flintstone about the Cartel.

I am generally inclined to keep things original as well. In this case the ER 1924 is a pretty rough example and the original handle has a lot of plate loss. I didn’t feel too bad about bastardizing it in hope of giving it a bit more heft and correct for the diminutive factory handle.
