Menthol Monday's ShaveCold Water Wash TSD Cool Lime Jayaruh #340 TNNSER GEM Blue Star SE CWR Osage Rub My prep was just a cold water rinse. The TSD Cool Lime Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #340 badger brush. I did two passes with the TNNSER razor with a GEM Blue Star SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Gem Damaskeene razor Treet blade FS Silver Tip brush CO Bigelow SC Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Colorado Sage cologne
The Damaskeene is a nice razor but way to mild for me. Now matter the blade/angle/etc I still don't get a close enough shave. Too bad but there is always tomorrow and more razors to choose from. Now go enjoy your day folks.

It's freezing outside this Monday, the temperature just climbed out of subzero a little while ago so I decided on a menthol Monday shave this morning. My razor today is the beast of all my 1912's, the squat-head GEM and the alum block agrees. Even with a broken in blade and being extra careful, it still gave me a couple little weepers. Two pass shave, no touchup needed. Razor: GEM 1912 squat head Blade: GEM Carbon (4) Soap: Proraso Green Brush: Vintage O-PAL handle with Synthetic Knot A/S: Alum Block, Osage Rub, Nivea Cooling Post Shave Balm

January 21 -- Menthol MondayMuch better shave than the other day -- 2nd shave with the PTFE is infinitely better than the 1st shave, and the 3rd shave on will be the best if my history is any guide. Got a close comfortable shave, with an emphasis on comfortable. Razor: G-Bar (final shave for this rotation....next stop Lather Catcher!) Blade: Gem PTFE (shave #2) Soap: Palmolive Stick -- I had enough lather for at least 2, maybe 3 shaves -- great soap! Brush: Yaqi 24mm Mew Brown Synth -- super soft, especially nice if you're not looking for a scrubbing A/S: Krampert's Finest Frostbite -- I sometimes forget to put in the pic, but I never forget to put it on my face!

Mon 21st Jan. Jayaruh No67 La Toja Stick Claymore V1 Schick Proline [ 8 ] La Toja A/S Lotion Though I now quite like my Alu. AC/SE Razors, I prefer the efficiency of my S/D Ones. The Claymore I used with a lighter handle was head heavy, but with a light touch I was able without any problems get an ultra close all round finish. That Soap Stick is so good that I have ordered more, so I can grate it down to form a puck.

I had intended to make a video this morning but there were some techincal problems. I will now be using the same setup for tomorrow in order to get this sample of soap on it and start my Auto Strop video series. Today was a sample of Shannon's Soaps Forest city Fern. I liked this soap. I think it has dried some in the sample container but it was still a great shave.( mlb549 can you chime in on this?) The VC4 was great too. I did not check the blade stops before starting, like you always should, do and gave myself a little scratch. Lesson reinforced. Over all it was a really nice comfortable shave!! Have a great day!! I am headed off to a day shift. Valet Auto Strop VC4 Feather SE blade reknot ER 650PB Shannon's Soaps Forest City Fern SS WH Aqua Velva Musk.

I'm looking forward to your Auto Strop series -- I got one in a lot I picked up a while ago, it's definitely on my list to try. I haven't done a ton of research, but it appears like there are various models and some are fine with a Gem blade and some are not? Anyway, looking forward to learning more about them.

Perhaps a series on the TOST channel? Like I needed an excuse. I hadn't planned on it, but why not!
