Yep, it says 1902. Don't know why it says 1902 but I've heard of it before on some later Dammy's from the GEM SAFETY RAZOR CORP. period (1919-1921). As a matter of fact read GEM PJGH's post in this thread. theoriginalsafety2.com/thread/2199/new-damaskeene-arrived-helpI assume it was a screw up at the factory.

If this razor was a stamp it would be worth a lot. The GEM "Blue Mauritius" 19-0/1-2 I'm not surprised PJGH has one. He has them all.

Definitely a misstamp. - The 1912 was not patented until... well... 1912 - The were no Damaskeene blades in 1902 - The box with the cross looks more like post-1915 - The company was not called Gem Safety Razor Corp until 1919
