Droo78 was having trouble fitting a Feather blade in his VC3 razor. I pulled out mine and gave it a try. I see what he means. You can see in the first picture that the blade is a bit cocked. In the second picture, with the razor closed, the blade does seem to seat in the blade stops well. It looks a little cocked on the top cap, but since the blade seats well on the stops, I don't see a problem with shaving with it. My other VC3 has differently located pins. Again, the blade seems to seat well on the blade stops. So, Droo78, do you have any pictures to share. I think either of these razors would work well without any modifications.

I knew there was a model the modern Feather SE does not fit. As you say as long as the blade is level and against the stops ....shave on.

I see your blade does not seat there on the right. Maybe you could put a little hurting on that tab in the E that would let the blade come down a bit.

I also just realized my pictures are not with the razor seated with it being pushed forward. I’ll post others

Actually, with the blade pushed all the way forward, it seems to sit perfectly in the blade stops.

It may be off by a small amount but don’t think it would affect the shave. If anything, it would work like a slant razor. Ha

Sort of a related question. I have a Valet (not sure what model yet). How do you modify a standard SE blade (a GEM PTFE, for example) to use it? Does that spine come odd easily?

It comes off pretty easily. I have used a knife blade to pry it gently off. I have seen someone use a pair of wire cutters to crimp it in the middle which evidently causes it to open up. Anyhow, it is not hard to get off. As with all sharp things, just be careful.

You can just use your pliers and grab on to the spine and gently bend it back a forth a few times, the aluminum spine will come right off.
