We have renamed it the Buckethead for its ability to retain water.

I have to admit that "Bucket head" makes more sense to me than "Shovel head" -- anyone know why the moniker "shovel head" came about??? If I had to make up something, it might be: because you have to "shove" the blade in and h-o-L-d it in place, or it will move out of alignment when you snap the "head" shut...shove-L-head. Or maybe because you have to "shovel" out the water and/or cream that gets trapped in the "head".
Despite my attempt at humor, I actually really like the 1924. It's got a nice "voice" that practically roars when I shave. And it's another mild-yet-efficient shaver for me. I could see it being a decent daily shaver for me, and the smallish handle makes it an easy travel razor as well.

As to the moniker, I'm unsure, but I will say this, that joker plowed through a 2 day growth like a hot knife through butter.

As I recall.
