March 5th -- Happy Mardi Gras!!!
Let the good shaves (with the Feather Weight) roll!!! While not pictured, other participants in this shave parade were: the Maggards 18mm travel brush, Haslinger's Schafmilch, and Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum!!! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
For those wondering, yes, the beads (and glasses mask) were caught during this year's parades!!!

Phoenix and Beau | Iceni Leo Frilot Tru-Stone Copper Matrix | AP Shave Co. SynBad 30mm The New Improved Schick Injector Razor | Personna 74 I'm a big fan of Phoenix and Beau. My introduction to them was an impulse buy of the controversial Whitechapel that was driven solely on the merits of the beautifully macabre art. I quickly discovered the product within lived up to the packaging. Not only was it a very respectable base that I've often compared to Barrister and Mann's white label, but the fragrance demonstrated some creative yet mature artistry. I've picked up an assortment of their offerings since then, and I've yet to be disappointed. Iceni is no exception. Admittedly, the rather pedestrian citrus/musk/resin profile didn't prepare me for the seductive accord that would be forthcoming. This is a very pleasant, bright chypre opening with sharp, faintly sweet citrus that almost immediately falls into herbaceous but throttled lavender followed by an perculiar incense-like note. Approaching the end of the shave, Iceni becomes more traditional warm resin softened by a woody powder with a lingering sweetness. The post-shave lotion is well matched if not a bit more enjoyable in that it presumably realizes the intended fragrance more accurately. Sadly, it's just not the medium to provide much longevity. Perhaps some day I'll be able to get my hands on the alcohol-based splash so I can enjoy this intoxicating scent a bit longer.

Tue 5th March. Omega 11126 boar Speick Active Gem Micromatic- OC Gem S/S [ 2 ] Pitralon Original A/S Lotion The Micromatic has a somewhat undeserved reputation of being overly aggressive. Provided that you get the Angle right and do not rush, it delivers a Smooth and comfortable Shave with a top notch finish. IMHO it loads and Shaves better than the modern S/S SE that I have used, i.e. Sabre L1, ATT Se-G and the Starling.

Williams Wednesday's ShaveCold Water Wash Williams Mug Shaving Soap Jayaruh #220 Gem Feather Weight Gem Blue Star SE CWR PSC Caffeinated AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #220 brush. I did two passes with the Gem Feather Weight razor with a Gem Blue Star SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Schick G4/Route 66 razor Personna 74 blade (#20) Omega 10066 boar brush Stirling MITA SS Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Clubman Reserve Brandy Spice A/S
I know I previously stated that this combo was being retired cuz it was getting a little tired and I had to work a bit more to get the shave I like. BUT, remembering how nice this combo felt to use, I thought it should be good for a couple more shaves and I was right. Nice smooth, comfortable shave that did require a bit more work but nothing to worry about. I had just gotten spoiled by the earlier results with this blade/razor. Anyway, think I'll be able to get a few more nice shaves from it. My face is happy for sure. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Williams Wednesday 6th March Vulfix 404 mixed Williams Mug Soap Gem Micromatic - Bullet Tip Gem S/S [ 2 ] Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion I am afraid that I have not used this Razor Enough in my Rotations. Today I found it to Shave very smoothly being forgiving yet efficient, it got rid of my toughish growth with ease and delivered a close all round finish. The 404 works well with the Soap in a Ramekin Dish, which can be held in the hand while lathering up.
