The B1 is a Auto Strop before it was Valet. That one has valet on it so not a B1. There is a valet ID type thread around somewhere. Thanks, I stand corrected. I believe it is VB1. From the post you mentioned... "Model VB1 (1921-1929?) This was the first model called a “Valet” razor. That’s all that distinguishes it from the Model B1: It said, “Valet/AutoStrop Razor”." I noted that none of the models pictured in that post say "Valet" on the razor, but the underside looked right. The handle must be from an older model because it does not match. A note on this razor. It is VERY head- heavy. Completely different feel from the VC1. It was a little difficult to maneuver, but I ended up with a decent, but not all that pleasant, shave. Left cheek, neck are ok, right cheek (where I started) is a little red and sore😖. What happened to my technique? 🤔🙄 That's an odd variant then if it only says "Valet" on the front. My VB1 says “Valet AutoStrop Razor”. Also a VB1 would have the roller guide in the back. The straight bar guide started with the VC1. You can't identify the model from the handle, they used whatever style was available it seems.

Razor: Eversharp Hydro-Magic
Blade: Personna
Soap: Italian Barber AMICI
Brush: Vintage ERSKINE w/ Badger Knot

First run with my newly acquired Eversharp Hydro-Magic. Not bad at all, I like.

SE Sunday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Green Mountain Lime Vetiver Shaving Soap The Brush B-3 by Tom Schick E2b with Personna blade Superior Lather Catcher Sha-Vee-Zee Blue Back SE CWR Thayers Peach WH My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Green Mountain Lime Vetiver Shaving Soap face lathered well with The Brush B-3 by Tom brush. I did the first pass with a Schick E2b with a Personna blade and a clean up pass with the Superior Lather Catcher razor with a Sha-Vee-Zee Blue Back SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Peach WH. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I challenge any and all to tell me of a better combination than Williams and a Shovelhead. I went ahead and put everything else away and dedicated the remainder of this month to Williams and the Shovelhead.
