twhite was nice enough to send me one of his babies to try out. The 1909 Ever Ready. This is one that I have not seen at any price. It is certaintly the forerunner to the 1924. Even though I do not like the 1924 that much I find that I love this thing. Go figure. Looking at them side by side they look a lot alike. The only draw back I had was it has the very small blade stops. That took me a few to figure out. It added a bit of drama to the video. ANDDDD the video

Great video as usual. Glad you liked the shave. One tip add an Injector blade on top of the Gem and slide is back to the spine. That will tighten the blade up and the small fingers will be able to hold the blade better.

That will tighten the blade up and the small fingers will be able to hold the blade better. Dang you gotta shim it... Thats not a shim... I always lay the se blade on the blade tray...then place an injector blade on top with the edge facing forward towards the front and the back flat side against the se blade backstrap. As I slide the se blade forward the injector blade, slides under the side blade holders and everything fits tight and easy.... This razor is from 1909 so those side blade holders fit EXACTLY where the slots are in the se blades. It's not a shim, but it just covers those side slots, veddy nicely...

Gotcha!! jayaruh posted about using tape to cover the slots for a 1924. Wooo I got it going on now!!
