SOTD April 6, 2019 This was truly an excellent shave!!! 2 new items were introduced into the den, and both elevated this shave from great to awe-inspiring: - New item #1 was Tabac. Yeah...I know....I'm probably the last person on this forum (maybe even in the whole wet shaving community) to try Tabac; and while it is "preaching to the choir", I REALLY liked this soap!!! I had avoided it in the past because some shavers (not on this forum) had complained loudly about the scent. Not sure what it says about me, but I really like the scent -- I'm not an A/S kind of guy (except for Krampert's Finest products), but I may well pick up some Tabac A/S in the future. The soap itself is a definite keeper and I won't be without it from here on out!
- New item #2 was a jayaruh handle. This handle is so beautiful and so comfortable to use -- it really did improve the shave experience. I've never had a problem with small, tall, metal or wood handles, but this one was like pulling Excalibur from the stone. And I'm ecstatic to learn that the threading will work with some of my other razor heads as well....I don't want to anger our resident brick-thrower, but this handle simply must be used often. It was suggested by the maker that I could change the color of it, but I'm a natural wood kind of guy, and while I may make an aesthetic change in the future, at the moment I deem this handle as absolutely perfect!!!
Okay, enough of me waxing eloquent about the shave, time for a few pics:

Handle look fantastic! And don't worry. I didn't try Tabac, and i don't have any intention to try it in some future. That scent is... Uffff... not my cup of tea

Saturday 04/06 Boy is this soap really not meant for shaving. I decided to give it a go eventhough I knew already from previous use and then from going and doing a proper research, that it is really bad. 1st and 2nd use whipped up a lather that would dissipate really quick. 3rd pass was something not that bad, rubbing the soap directly onto the face. It dissipated fast though, but much more slicker. The alum block really kicked me in the ⚾🥎🏀🏐🏈 although no nicks. Will have to really bring it out once in every blue moon, and just for the sake of the scent. Razor, PAL adjustable Blade, Schich injector blade from China, 8th use I believe? I need to keep better track if these blades Brush, Razorock big bruce Soap, Geo F. Trumper's Rose Aftershave, Maggards' alum block, Thayer's witchhazel, The Body Shop KistnaPost aftershave balm, EDT, Perry Ellis Platinum Label

SE Sunday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Almalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap Jayaruh #340 Badger J.A. Henckels Henckels wedge CWR Lucky Tiger My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Almalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #340 Badger brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Lather Catcher razor with a Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Haven't tried Tabac, haven't even smelled it. It's on "the list".

Sunday 04/07 Maiden voyage, at least to me, of this Schick Dial, in pretty good condition may I say. Really close , comfortable shave as well. Some feedback from the alum block, but I bet it was user inflicted. I have to confess, that out of all my razors, the General SS and the injector ones, those are the ones that eventhough are close, also are easy to use and comfortable at the same time. With ALL I need to do a 3 full pass shave and a 4th for clean ups, buffing, pick ups, call it what you like, but only the injectors have gone beyond BBS to the realm of Baby Dolphin Smooth. Razor, Schick Dial, on 8 Blade, Schich injector blade from China, 1st use Brush, Razorock big bruce Soap, PAA Atmotic Aftershave, Maggards' alum block, Thayer's witchhazel, The Body Shop Kistna Post aftershave balm, EDT, Burberry, The Beat
