I trialed the Supply V2 Injector for about two months now. I bought the full meal deal. Cream, Brush, Razor and AS Balm.
Here is my synopsis.
Brush - I was not a fan of the brush - if you like really soft synthetics with no backbone, you may well love this brush. I like backbone and scritch. It lost a few bristles the first few times out and was still losing 1 or 2 per shave after 10 plus uses. Size wise I think it's perfect. Not too big, not too small.
The shaving cream - lathered well and was nice to use, but felt a bit harsh on my face it was on too long.
The AS Balm - felt fine worked well, but the scent gave me a light headache.
The shaving cream and the AS Balm were the Lost Provence scent which is a mix of Lavender, Blue Sage and Basil, very nice but the balm was too strong for me.
Now onto the razor
What I liked:
Single Blade
Injector Format
Shaved efficiently (#2 plate)
Didn't like:
Too heavy
The head (brushed version) didn't glide that well, hung up at times.
Tended to bite easily. (Tried original #2 plate and #1 plate) The #1 was too mild and that meant I needed a lot of touch ups and buffing.
I think I could have kept it and got on with it. Any decently designed razor is capable of delivering a good shave once one learns the ins and outs of that particular razor. I could live with the grabbiness. That would probably be overcome with technique and I'm sure eventually I'd quit getting nicks. (I've 4 different unmentionable models including open and closed comb, Schick Injector, eBarbershop Injector, RazoRock Hawk V2 and this razor nicked me more than any of those ever have.)
The real deal breaker for me was the weight. Stainless is what all the "cool kids" are using these days, but I don't think it makes a better razor. It makes a better marketing bullet point. I would like to see this razor made from Aluminum or (and this would be spendier) out of Titaninum and make the groove in the handle a bit deeper to trim weight and make the heads a little thinner to keep the balance.
The weight combined with the grabbiness made a heavy razor cumbersome or clumsy to use.
Supply are good on the customer service front. When I contacted them about the shave they offered a second plate to try at no charge. When I decided to return they were prompt and sent a return label (they pay shipping on the return) and I got an email from one of the co-owners (the wife) acknowledging my feed back. She did say they are considering offering something lighter weight, so presumably I'm not the first to dislike the weight. Many others obviously like the weight and get a long just fine with the razor. I wish them the best and hope they do come out with a lighter model. I'd give them a second chance for sure. But only get a razor rather than the whole set.
