Sorry but I believe the above razor is a disposable so that does not go with our rules here. We only discuss true SE razors that take real blades. It will be best if you correct this. You will not want to be hit with bricks. Cordially Tom I removed it from the post. Can you do the same with your comment? Done. Thanks you. Looking forward to more of your SE posts. Tom

My 4th beastAfter recognizing that injector razors were a good thing, I decided to try an adjustable. Dunno why, but I have an affection to adjustables. I had at least five different ones, although I have sold them all. Now the only thing why I can resist buying new ones is that I decided a while ago, that I won't buy any more zamak razors. Or new razors. (Unless I have to ) I also always wanted to try a razor of that shape, like the Personna Injector, or the Supply single edge, but I decided to choose the PAL adjustable. An adjustable runner up was the Schick adjustable, but I prefer the looks of the stainless steel PAL. (Is the Supply a homage to these razors?) Basically, most people say they like the Schick adjustable, while the reputation of the PAL is not even remotely unanimous, some like it a lot, although it mostly gets a "meh". Luckily I didn't regret buying it. I found one at Etsy, with its original box and instructions. The photos were a bit blurry, and in reality, the razor looks wonderful, better than expected. I think I am pretty lucky with this, I have acquired quite some number of razors that turned out to be in way better condition than I would've imagined based on the photos. It weighs 50 grams, which is quite good for an injector razor, the stainless steel looks flawless, and its long handle with its ribbed plastic under the steel is very comfortable. The adjusting mechanism sets the safety bar's distance from the blade edge, the guard is the moving part. I started with Light setting and worked up until Heavy (these are the L and H on the 5-scale dial) during the first WTG pass. The shaving experience was similar to the Schick Type E, which I love. Currently, I try to find out if H or one below that would be the best when it comes to both efficacy and comfort. On the Mid-Light setting range, the blade feel disappears, and so does effectiveness due to the smaller blade gap. I love its vintage-modern look, the dichotomy of an object designed to look futuristic - 60 years ago.

Nice collection of SE's. I have RazoRock Hawk, a couple of Injectors (L and O), and just this week won a couple Gem's. A gold Gem Jr and one with a white Bakelite handle.
I'm fixin' to use the Gem Jr today as the Bakelite one has not arrived. Got some blades from CVS. Interested as I've never used the Gem format blade before. I like the SE because of the solid blade feel and some of them such as the Injectors due to the smaller more maneuverable head.
I really like the adjustable Injector you have. That is one thing I'd like to get yet, but my stable is pretty full otherwise.

My 5th fantastic beast...... also has its story. Randy, I hope you don't mind if I mention this here, being grateful to you and also to how this wetshaving community works. I opened a thread over at B&B BST forums, looking for some razors, and long story short, one of our own, herm2502, first offered me a PAL Injecto-Matic for sale, although during the process he got outraged about shipping costs to Hungary, lo and behold, in the end, he gifted me the razor, and wouldn't allow me to bear the shipping part neither. As I understand he was just paying something similar forward. Paying forward (giving, and also emphasizing to give later to someone else instead of unnecessary gratitude, and ask the same from them...) is one of the noblest acts I see nowadays, and I do my best to have that concept settle in various communities I am member of. I'm always amazed, that in such situation when instead of letting them thank anything I ask them to pay it forward instead, nearly no one seems to have heard of this concept, but they love it anyway. "There he was and in he walked." Yep, my third proper injector razor has arrived, the same day as the PAL adjustable, and I took it for a spin soon. It behaves somewhere between the Type E and the Type B Schick razors, got some blade feel, and is on the mild-to aggressive range of the scale. It's definitely not my nicest razor, although that deceiving ugly duckling look shouldn't fool anyone, it's rather ergonomic, and once the proper angle found, pretty effective. Some of my other razors must have stolen the show in the past couple of days, but I have quite a number of very comfortable and great BBS shaves in this razor.

My 6th fantastic beastI was very lucky with my latest acquisition. When I started asking around for SE razors matching my taste, the Ever-Ready SE razor (often called the Streamline based on popular misunderstanding or simplification) came up as a top-notch although overpriced piece. It might be semi-rare, in fact, I saw some specimen on the bay and Etsy, and indeed it is priced above the pain threshold. Not so long ago however I came across a Strop Outfit set on eBay, with blurry photos and the slogan missing the keyword "Streamline". Meaning that saved searches were not triggered. It has been there for a while. And what made it even more suspicious, is that its price was below one - third of the cheapest price I ever saw. It was advertised by an antique dealer, with no other razors in his offering, so probably he was not aware of the real prices. I contacted him, asked to secure shipping to Hungary, and made the purchase. I didn't waste time by asking for sharper photos, at that price I was fine with an anticipated average user grade condition razor, and missing the leather strop from the box. To be fair, sharper photos wouldn't have helped, it was so dirty. The box was grey instead of an off-white, painting of the lettering almost completely worn down, and the razor was gunked up with soap residue all over it. But when it arrived, I already saw, that was a first gen razor in exceptionally nice condition. First I boiled the razor with dish soap, and also cleaned the box. Then recently with the help of a friend who's a champion in military vehicle modeling, we just painted the missing golden letters on the box. OK. If something, this is really a fantastic beast. It's not just this was a steal, it's not just the over-hype, this is truly one of my greatest razors, if not THE greatest one. I recently changed my technique to light and long strokes, which this razor rewards with the best and most comfortable BBS shaves in three passes without touch-ups, with zero irritation. Of course, I wouldn't say I don't need any other razors in my den (another popular concept after acquiring this razor) but the reason of using anything else is really just to make my daily photos more diverse. I recognized that shooting and retouching the SOTD photos became a similar obsession to collecting razors and shaving with them. Currently, that is it. I have these six SE razors in my small den. A 7 th one is in customs clearance, which I will show here of course. At the moment I have no intention to buy anything else. Maybe a Hussey. And as usual I close the post with a glam-shot.

My 7th beast has just arrived. I don't plan to buy any more razors for a while, in fact with some recent acquisitions I think I will sell some, and keep the most beautiful and best-performing ones. I really don't need 15-20 razors. (Said no one ever. ) I can't wait until tomorrow to show it. I'm at work, and just run out to the post office to pick it up in my lunch-break, and shot a couple of photos on a free desk. I will post about it tomorrow again after having tried it. I have watched this beauty for ages. I fall in love with the matte satin finish, although this one I found in a used razor listing is the polished version. In fact, I don't mind it. Recently I got obsessed taking photos of shiny metal objects. (Razors and brushes obviously.) It will look great with my Rubberset 400 homage brush.

The latest beastThis is my first razor using AC blades. Quick facts: it is made of stainless steel, weighs 112 grams, looks like a beauty. I have three shaves in it now, so I have a sound opinion, but not a lot of experience. Using a 50mm wide blade is great, I couldn't get used to it yet how great it is. The razor fits into the category I like, efficient razor with a good blade feel. I only have Feather Pro blades, so I haven't tried anything else, and unless I got some different ones from my friends, I don't plan to buy now, simply because two boxes of blades (40 pieces) would last me over a year with daily shaves even if I didn't use anything else. However, I have at least 3 more razors I want to keep in rotation, and quite some more I use occasionally. The shaves were excellent, three passes, with little to no touch-ups necessary, although I am a BBS chaser. It feels great in my hand, the handle is comfortable. I find it pretty heavy for an SE, already my PAL Adjustable with its 50 grams felt heavy, this is more than twice its weight. Since I like long and heavy razors, this is a pro for me. I'm using light long strokes, and I think with this razor this is optimal. The blade is so sharp, and the weight of the razor gives such a momentum, that it would bite off any bumps or unevenness from the surface. The strange thing is that while shaving it does not feel that effective, it feels as if it just slid through my face. And then while rinsing my face between passes, I feel what a great job it did step by step. I'm sure I emphasized that one thing I love in this hobby is how beautiful the objects are. So when picking pieces of the equipment, for me it is not enough if something works perfectly. Fortunately, we have many many perfect razors and brushes available. For me, it needs to be beautiful as well. I consider myself lucky, as I have so many pieces that I find beautiful. This particular razor is something that I found the most beautiful piece of shaving equipment in the past years. I am a very satisfied man now. And I think I stop my shopping spree now. My den became slightly bigger than I think I need, so I'll spend some time thinning the herd.
