Wednesday AM 06-27-2012Becker scuttle Proraso preshave Somerset Simpson Polo 12 Super brush Barbon shaving cream Gem Featherweight razor Star Super Edge blade (3) Chanel Allure aftershave A very good shave. Despite its size, the PL12 makes lathers just about as well as any other brush I own, and it has a great feel. The Barbon has a green scent, possibly with a little eucalyptus, which I don't really like very much, but it produces tons of rich, thick, slick lather. I'll probably end up passing it on to someone else. And the Featherweight and Star work excellently together. I'm BBS once again.

I switched from the Clog Pruf to the Junior for a bit. I'm getting closer shaves albeit with not quite as much comfort.

Thursday AM 06-28-2012SRD scuttle Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil Somerset Simpson AS5 Butterscotch Pure brush Tabula Rasa Dark Lavender shaving soap Ever-Ready 1914 razor Star Super Edge blade (4) Yardley English Lavender aftershave A mediocre shave. The AS5 is that rare brush, among all my Somersets, that completely clumps up and becomes a mop when wet, making lather production very difficult. And since this was my first use of the TR soap, I'm not sure how easy it is to lather anyway. At any rate, lots of soap used to produce scant thin lather. The blade is beginning to tug just a little, but it may last another shave.

Thursday AM 06-28-2012 That is a nice looking setup. Where did the brush/razor holder come from? That looks neat as all get out. Fuzzy
