Perfect first SE,... I clean with dish soap, warm water, and a soft toothbrush, let it dry for about a week, and shave. "let it dry for about a week" ? Nothing will live on clean and dry for 7 days.

Oh sure they will, most bacteria will go to sleep until moisture returns and since they are ubiquitous in the environment you can't stop them. HAHAHAHA! It's a good thing that most bacteria are harmless or even beneficial, but viruses then..OMG! I like scaring germaphobes!!

Back in the college days, I had a microbiology class. Every lab table had a big bowl of disinfectant where we'd dip forceps and what not to kill things, but we knew that that wasn't strong enough, so the procedure was to first get them good and hot in the bunson burner and then dip. Occasionally we'd dip a sterile swab in the disinfectant and spread on an agar plate and incubate it. Often times you'd find some colonies of bacteria the next day. Any razor I get used, I just spray with bathroom disinfectant, leave it on for a couple of minutes and then rinse and happily use after that. Sometimes i think we go to such extremes about this. A quick dunk in bleach is going to take care of any nasties.

Okay, so a couple of things I should add: 1. I’m a freak and I know it. I laughed when I read that. I just posted what I do with razors, but I'm a germophobe about some things. I HAVE to wash my hands ever single time I pet the dog. I don't honor the 5 second rule, I go by the 5 milisecond rule. I joke that I'm like Howard Hughes, just without the Billions.
