Hi everyone,
I have someone who is offering me 7 NOS Alfred Dunhill blades. Problem is, he is saying they are too wide for his Rapide, which I assume that means they'll be too wide for all other lather catchers? He says they could be modified to fit the Rapide, and by that I am assuming they'd need to be ground from the sides to make them less wide.
Just wanted to confirm with you all.

Funnily enough I was just trying a Rapide blade in a Star No.1 just before I read this. I can confirm, if it's too wide for the Rapide it won't fit a Star

Take them and try modifying just 1. I had to do this to a set I bought. It was easily done with a disc or belt sander. Just keep the blade cool

I just read the words "Alfred Dunhill" and "modify" in the same thread, and I died a little inside.
Hope it works out for you, though!
