I would soak it overnight with a splash of dish washing liquid. That should loosen any old build-up. Then brush using a soft toothbrush with some toothpaste. Finish it off with a metal polish like Peek. Tnx Arthur! I have also heard form Fuzzy that Brasso works well.

Not really Shave related. But cool none the less. It is a mid 1920’s Burke drill press. It was updated at some point. I will get it back to close to original a little at a time. It does run very little runout.

Another British made 1912. With a box that looks like it was made yesterday. And two freshly honed Corrux blades.

The brush named 'The Outlaw' with an Arctic Fox synthetic knot were part of the ATG forum's 2019 LE group buy, along with the Wickham LE soap 'Apricus'. This and the SS razor handle named ' The Bravo' were produced by The Alpha Brush & Shaving Co The brush has a unique Wickham 'Apricus' logo coin on the handle's base. The package from Alpha came packed in very impressive bamboo tube. I've coupled the SS handle with an ER 1924 head ready for today's SOTD.
