Thursday, June 6Another excellent shave from the Schick Fashion Razor (aka the H1, aka the "hussy"). This was a 2-pass plus a clean-up DFS bordering on a BBS -- incredibly close and crazy comfortable shave. Shave soap was the Speick cream....it performs well, and while I didn't love the scent the first time I used it, today I really enjoyed -- go figure. Finished off with Krampert's Acadian Spice Bay Rum.

Friday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Morning TOST Jayaruh #340 Badger Kampfe/Star Lather Catcher CVS CS CWR Aqua Velva Musk AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Morning TOST Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #340 badger brush. I did two passes with the Kampfe/Star Lather Catcher razor with a CVS CS blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Schick M1 Adjustable razor Personna blade Omega 10066 boar brush More for You Shave Soap Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Pinaud Citrus Musk cologne
Just received the "More for You" shave soap from Turkey. Smells Arko'ish but not nearly as strong. Lathered easily and did a fine job providing cushion/glide. Think I like it but will use it a bit more to be sure. But my face is happy and that's a good sign. Now go enjoy your day folks

Valet Autostrop ChallengeNew out of the wrapper post merger blade from the 1930's to 1940's. Autostrop blades were double wrapped. Outer paper wrapper with an inner wrapper made of a clear thin wax paper type material, blade is oiled to help prevent rust. After all these decades the oil turned into a sticky glue which made it difficult to peal the inner wrapper off and clean the blade. No rust on the blade though! I have some older NOS Autostrop blades that still rusted in the inner wrapper. First impressions shaving with this blade were it wasn't as sharp as a modern carbon or stainless steel blade but useable. A bit tuggy on the WTG pass. I stropped it but that didn't seem to make much difference. It cut much better on the ATG pass and touchup so I ended up with an acceptable close shave with some mild post shave irritation. I'm not a huge fan of carbon steel blades to begin and some mild irritation is more common with them for me. I'll try it again next week. Razor: Valet Autostrop VC2 Blade: NOS Valet Autostrop Blade Soap: Razorock Essential Oil of Lavender Brush: Maggard 24mm Syth A/S: Alum Block, Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel, Playboy No Sleep New York AS

Friday shave with a shovelhead. This one has the larger shoulder on the base of the head where the handle screws into. I think I prefer this over the other head style as it has a bit more weight on the head. Really nice shave with it.
