I just got one of the rubbery ones from Sir Jay. I applied some Dr.Martens Wonder Balsam, and it feels like new. I was going to order some nos valet blades. But right now, I'm infatuated with trying this strop on my A1 with current blades. This has been a polorizing topic. In fact Fuzzy just said he just ruin a new CS Treet Super trying to strop it. Yo Fuzzy...what type of strop were you using? I read a while ago where someone was getting great results stropping new carbon steel blades...Soooo, I want to try. This morning, new GEM Blue Star, 17 Strops before, Great shave, 2 passes, no time for Fuzzy's WH clean up pass, which I always do, but I was already shiny smooth. So day 1: 17 strops before, 17 strops after. Shave was 5 Stars How msny strops would you guys do before and after, if you were me? I have a reproduction leather strop. Y'all have fun. If you want a challenge get a CS feather blade and try to get it to shave.

This is a little different subject.... But....I love using the GEM SS blades....but my only issue is....the first 2 or 3 shaves can be a tad harsh....although veddy close. ..
Sooo, today I loaded a new GEM Stainless in my A1 and made 25ish strops....maybe 28...
I'm telling you....This first shave felt like a new carbon....Maybe it's my imagination? I don,'t think so...But I will continue trying this with a few SS GEMs in the future to be sure.
But I believe its a real thing, right now...so for those of you who dig the SS blades, but not the first 2 shaves....give it a try and report back to us....
Back to your previously programed station...

Menthol Monday's ShaveThe AutoStrop Challenge Continues: #21 Cold Water Rinse TSD Cool Lime Jayaruh #375 Synthetic Valet VB2 Valet AutoStrop (21) CWR Osage Rub This is a different razor. It has the same top as last week's razor but a different handle and finish. It stropped up nicely and provided an excellent shave. So this is about half way through the challenge if I make it to the end. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The TSD Cool Lime Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #375 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Valet VB2 razor with a Valet AutoStrop blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Hmm...Are you saying it's all in his head? I think Sir Bird got a bit to much sun or something... but that is just me thinking out loud. 😁

Shave #23. Excellent results, but a little tuggy. I will be stropping a bit more to see if it helps.

I may be at the end of my AutoStrop Challenge (26). Today's AS shave ended disappointingly. After two passes, I still felt scruffy. I took my Enders Speed Shaver with a Proline blade, and finished off making this a successful shave. I am changing razors for tomorrow (VC4) and doing some additional stropping. If that doesn't help, I will call it quits.
