Schick Adjustable Injector Persona Re-Branded Blade (D-5) Persona Re-Branded Blade (D-1) Vulfix # 1 Boar Brush Palmolive Cream (Brussels) Dickenson’s WH Floid AS
Was trying to see how many shaves I could get from one of the re-branded Personas. Turns out it is only four. Had to stop and put in a new one as the first started tugging. Well, now I know; four is max. Got a bottle of Floid a while back. Tried it this morning. Don’t hate it but not sure if I love it.

Wednesday, Independence Day from the British! (Not starting trouble, it'll be made plain in a moment.)
Hot towel face prep MdC (the French assisted the Revolution, they're not above assisting my shave) Omega 599 Silvertip (only because it wasn't a Brit' brush) GEM OCMM GEM SS ptfe Kramperts Finest Bay Rum (clearly the last 3 are purely American)
Cool day in Maine today, so a Face lather was important for the finest of shaves that I wanted for our Independence Day. A small quantity of MdC on the brush and put on my wet cheeks gave me the soap I needed to make the hot towel really pay off.
The Omega Silvertip isn't British, so it was OK, but so would have any of my boars. (Not sure about a TGN Knot...British made? ) It lathered the French contribution to the shave just fine.
The razor, blade, and after shave are purely American, and what better way to finish an Independence Day shave than with purely American products? The KFBR has an additional tie in because of the nautical connection to the sea, the navy, and the shipbuilding heritage of Maine (part of Massachusetts back then). OK, the British got their masts from Maine, but we can ignore that.
Have a great Independence Day gents!

- Prep: Hot shower and towel
- Brush: Ever Ready 89 boar
- Soap: C&E Nomad
- Razor: '12 Ever Ready
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM SE (shave 7)
- A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner
- EDT: SCS Very V EDT
- Result: DFS today. Blade was going downhill on its last shave. Only did WTG and ATG passes with no buffing. First time with a C&E soap. Loved it. Nice lather with plenty of cushion and glide. Only thing bad is the wooden container. Loading the brush was a real mess with it. Although it seems that I did not have to load as much soap on the brush for this brand.

Sorry Fuzzy, I've been a bit under the weather and neglected to post the "alternative" SOTD. Here's what I've been using this week:
Monday, 2 July
Gem Feather Weight Gem SS/PFTE Blade (8) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Mennen Skin Bracer
Tuesday, 3 July
Gem Feather Weight Gem SS/PFTE Blade (9) Made-Rite 500PB Brush C.O. Bigelow Cream Barbasol Pacific Rush
Wednesday, 4 July
Gem Heavy Flat-Top Gem SS/PFTE Blade (10) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Pinaud Clubman
Thursday, 5 July
Gem Heavy Flat-Top Gem SS/PFTE Blade (11) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Vi-Jon Ivy Club Spice
The HFT/G-Bar has been working quite well for me the last couple of days. It's still not my favorite by a long shot but I've been getting some fairly close shaves from it this time around.

Gem CPMM Walgreens Stainless Blade VDH Boar Brush Collier Row Shave Croap Dickensons WH Stephans Lilac AS
The tallow based Collier Row Cream/soap is very under rated in my opinion. Great for summer with plenty of refreshing lather.

Friday AM 07-06-2012Becker scuttle Ach Brito Glyce preshave soap Somerset Simpson Duke 2 Pure brush Aramis shaving soap (vintage) Gem Featherweight razor Gem SS PTFE blade (1) Acqua di Parma aftershave A great shave. I don't know who actually made the old Aramis soap, but it is good, lathering about the same as original mug Old Spice. The Featherweight glided nicely, and the AdP is a fine, clean finish.

Saturday AM 07-07-2012Becker scuttle Ach Brito Glyce preshave soap Somerset Simpson Astor Best brush Coates LE shaving cream soap Ever-Ready 1914 razor Gem SS PTFE blade (2) Acqua di Parma Colonia aftershave balm Another great shave. The Astor has the best flowthrough and lather release of any brush I own. The Coates is quite a good soap, very soothing. I've begun to hand strop my SE blades, and it may be just my imagination, but I think they're smoother. BBS in 3 passes.

Gem Heavy Flat-Top Gem SS/PFTE Blade (13) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick No aftershave this morning
It's my last shave on this blade and still not a bad one. I've got into the habit of loading a new blade every other Sunday. It seems to work well for me.

Sunday, 8 July
Gem MMCP Gem SS/PFTE Blade (1) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Family Dollar Witch Hazel with Glycerin and essential oils
I got carried away with the quick, effortless shave I was getting with the new blade and ended up doing something that almost never happens to me anymore - I nicked my chin. The witch hazel took care of the cut nicely.
