Welcome aboard, glad to have you here!
We love new members, and in the spirit of helping and answering lots of questions, this thread should come in handy.
So, what is this 30 day challenge you may be asking? It's very simple. Use the same gear, for 30 days. That it! Why is this important? Well it does a few things. 1. Takes out the variables of the gear, 2. Forces to focus on technique 3. Let's you tweak and fine tune your approach to using that new peice of gear.
Wether you are a novice or an old pro, it is still a good idea to eliminate variables and test that new product in a scientific way.
So, jump right in, tell us what your focus is, what your testing, how the testing is going, whatever! This will serve as a way to get feedback from others that may just be able to help with said product!

This seems like a great idea. I will think of what aspect of shaving I want to focus on next.

For newer shavers this is a great idea. We do not get a lot of new guys here. It seems that most are converts from unmentionables. SE Rocks

I've picked my poison. For the next rest of July, I will only face lather. Currently I do a mix of both. The thing is, it's easy to whip up lather in a bowl, but the hard part is how great the lather you make in the bowl works on your face. I think / hope that by face lathering I will reach the lather that I want, easier. Sometimes the lather that looks nice isn't as good for shaving as the lather that doesn't.

riverrun, you stole my thunder! But I'm going to up the ante by facelathering AND using nothing but SE razors AND the same blade (I'm about to take the blade out of the GEM '24 and put it into the ClogPruf) for the next 30 days or until the blade gets too dull. Of course I've been doing that for quite some time now. I went to the ClogPruf because I don't shave every day and it deals with long cut offs so much better than my beloved ER '24. But I agree with the premise of your challenge. It's the best way to get accustomed to nailing down variables in shaving and figuring out just what works and what doesn't. I did much the same thing when I began in this blade shaving protest of mine . I would change only one variable at a time until I nailed down what each change did for me. I got good really fast by doing that. It was called Scientific Method then and still is called that today. It sure beats using "chaos method". Good challenge for those new to this! If anyone needs to ask questions go for it, we're here to help.
