Menthol Monday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Eskimo Tuxedo Shaving Soap Jayaruh #376 Eversharp H2 Hussy Personna Injector Osage Rub I was going to use this razor last week on my vacay, but I didn't have a good blade. I am home now and changed the blade to a new one, and hopefully I will have some great shaves this week.

Welcome back, Jim! I'm sure you're glad to be home and have full access to all of your shaving materials. A few weeks ago I started a thread on travel kits ( over here)...thought you might find it interesting as a recent traveler.

I put my two new razors through a thorough cleaning with my sonic cleaner. I am looking forward to using my Hussy this week. Thanks for the link. August 12th -- Magnificent Menthol GEMondayFirst time shaving with my GEM Contour, and I actually enjoyed it. I say "actually" because I haven't fallen in love with my GEM Push Button (too mild, in my limited experience) and I had come to believe that the Contour would fall in that camp as well. So I pushed my expectations to the ground, and I ended up having a really nice shave with 2-passes (WTG and XTG/ATG) and a small touch-up. It was only one shave, but I could see the Contour being a decent daily work-shaver for me. One last note, the LEA Menthol cream is REALLY great stuff!!!! Lots of lather, great slickness, and a decent blast of menthol!!! Here are the shave details: GEM Contour with GEM SS PTFE (10) | Yaqi 24mm Mew Brown Knot in Purple Haze handle | LEA Menthol Cream | Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel

Mon 12th August RazoRock Syn. 24mm Arko stick- grated ER 1914 Gem S/S [ 5 ] Pitralon Original A/S Lotion After a superb Shave with a "Streamline" today was not so good with the ER1914, no major problems but judging by the finish the blade was off.

Tabac Tuesday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Tabac Shave Soap Jayaruh #376 Eversharp H2 Hussy Personna Injector CWR Tabac AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #376 Brush. I did two passes with the Eversharp H2 Hussy razor with a Personna Injector Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

E-R Streamline (1st Gen.). A gorgeous razor and a very underwhelming shave. I don't find the additional weight of any real benefit in handling, and the first use Gem blade was very tuggy. Bad blade possibly? I dunno but I finished with the Enders Speed-Proline which was a lot more agreeable.[

Tue 13th Aug. RazoRock Syn. 22mm P & B Pall Mall Ever Ready-Natural Angle [ HFT ] Gem S/S [ 5 ] Floid Vigoroso A/S Lotion I rather like the looks of this British version of a "G Bar", but unfortunately it seems too mild for me. Whilst shaving it feels good in the hand and is very manoeuvrable , but despite my best efforts I can not get a an ultra close finish with it - an OK Going to Work Shave. I get similar results with a Push Button and reckon both Razors would be good for those folk with lighter beard growth than mine.
