I just got a brilliant idea. Have him ask his recruiter for the answer w/o having any BS blown up his butt.

When I enlisted in the Marines, the one piece of advice I got was this, don't be first, don't be last, and don't volunteer for ANYTHING!!! I pretty much received the same advice from my old man before I went to basic. He said it was all a game and just to keep my head down and follow orders. My dad said in boot camp(USMC) Drill Sgt ask "any of you farm boys know how to drive a big truck?". Dear old dad and three others raised their hand and spent the next three days moving a huge pile of boulders in wheel barrows!! So when I went to boot camp(USMC), I didn't know anything about any thing and became platoon guide!

I know a couple of years ago I was told there were no razors with removeable blades allowed at bootcamp. Not sure which branch of the military that was.
