Good Sunday morning. Great morning for a shave with a fine Turkish shave stick and boar brush. The F is always a good choice and what needs to be said about Special Reserve. I think the name says it all.

How do you like it? It’s a strange feeling of harshness (boar) and softness (badger) quite pleasant on my face. In a brush rotation I think is good to have one .

Sunday September 8th shave The Fuller brush has a mixed badger/boar knot from the shave forge. It is a good feeling knot with the scratchy side of the boar mixed in with the softness of a badger. Time will tell as it slowly gets broken in with use in my rotation.

SE Sunday's Shave
Cold Water Rinse Colgate Mug Shave Soap Jayaruh #30RS Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher Vintage Gem Cutlery SE CWR Barbasol AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Colgate Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #30RS Brush. I did two passes with the Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher razor with a Vintage Gem Cutlery SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Edit: I just thought I'd add this shout out to twhite for his awesome job of honing my Gem Cutlery SE blades over two years ago. I am still shaving with these things with my lather catchers. I strop them before and after the shave, and I am still working on the first two out of seven. I'm still getting great shaves. Those blades are a clear representation of what once was. What a nice job they did putting their name on them. Today's blade labeling pales in comparison. Of course back then they were also trying to build a brand and put a bit more work into making things look nice. Of course maybe my priorities are off as I've read from more than on place that today's modern blades are typically sharper than most vintage blades. And when you come down to it, the cutting edge is what matters, not how nice the name on them looks.

Sat 7th / Sun 8th Sept Omega s100065 Syn Mondial Tabacco Verde - travel size Sat - ATT SE1 & Schick Proline [ 3 ] Sun- Occams V2/No3 Plate & Feather Proguard [ 4 ] La Toja A/S Lotion Away for the weekend, the Sat shave was not the best,as the mirror in the Bathroom positioned badly making shaving awkward. On Sunday in a different Hotel where the set up was really good, a nice quick shave with passable results.I could easily have pushed for an ultra close shave but as driving home did not feel the need. The soap was the star of the weekend, as it produced a very quick effective lather and came in a nice sized container.
