Epic razor weekend for me. These plus 2 unmentionables. I got all of these at the same vendor sans the Schick Repeating razor. The 9 razors were $40 total. That included a Dammy and 2 ER 1912 British Made. This lady had 30 more razors for sale. All SE. As for the Repeater it was $20 bucks. After talking to the sellers for a while. I found out they have the cap for it. They were selling the guys mother razor collection. Mainly unmentionables. I helped them get the correct razors in a few cases. You are quite the SE finder, Tom. I literally could have bought 30 more today. It was the most I have ever seen.

Would the "Adelene" take despined GEM blades? It should have blade stops: razors.click/patents/US932518/

They actually shave very nice. I am always looking for the obscure SE’s. For about $4 for the razor well worth it. I will go back next month and pick up more Gem razors. Her prices are $8-$15 for cased razors and $3-$5 for uncased. Most of the cased are Valet VC 2 and a couple of 1924’s. The loose are varied Gems and Ever Ready. As I have all of those, I really only looked for cased, unique and very clean examples. The wife gets mad when I drop this much on razors. As there are bills to pay. I save change to get money for my Willy Nilly purchases. Razors and Vises are my vices.

Tom, I have the greatest respect for your razor designs/builds as well as your acquisition prowess, but you are also the main reason I almost never check this thread . If I had a nickel for every flea market, antique mall, antique shop, and yard sale I've been to in over a dozen different states, where the proprietor/seller/vendor says to me "nope, I put all that shaving stuff on the E-Bay, you should check there" -- well, let's just say I'd have a lot more spending money to go buy stuff "on the E-Bay"!!! As always, I must doff my cap and say well done, sir....well done!!!

They will sometimes bring razors the next time. That is what the lady did this month. I have been chatting her up for almost a year to bring the razors. Another tip is to dig in the piles of stuff. I find many razors that way also.

That has a unique handle. Very cool score. Let us know how the blades are. You know where to send them for honing.

Well, I just got off of eBay. A little over an hour ago, I ran across a Kampfe Star lather catcher. No one had bid on it and there was only about an hour and 5 minutes left. So, I did my duty and put in a bid. I won it. WOO HOO! It has two wedges in it too. I don't know how good they are, but I am hoping. Should be here by October 1, but I am hoping for sooner. That has a unique handle. Very cool score. Let us know how the blades are. You know where to send them for honing. Thanks, Tom. I know where to send them for sure. I was thinking of you when I made the bid.

Great tips, thanks Tom!!! I can always look for you. Just let me know what you are looking for and price range. Or if you see anything from my haul you are interested in. Thanks Tom!!! I used to live in a part of the U.S. (NJ, PA, NY, CT, NH, ME) where it always seemed that the local swap meets (i.e., flea markets) and even yard sales were stocked with vintage items. Things folks had used and cared-for; but they were just ready to let it go to someone else. In those days I was mostly a tool collector (vises were a favorite of mine, as were various wrenches, hatchets, hammers, axes, chisels....well, you get the picture). I belonged to several tool collectors associations and we would have meetings at the local Masonic lodge....lots of fun and great conversations. When I relocated to Louisiana, it was slim pickings -- both for sources of items and organizations. I had slight success in Mississippi and in Alabama, but it was a pale shadow of the Northeast when it came to vintage tools and household goods. Anyway, that's a long way to say that I miss the hunt. I do have a very short list of things I'm looking for, and I'll drop you a PM with it....just in case something crosses your path. Keep up the great work rescuing these excellent items!
