Hoity toity shave it was today Razor was Razorock Hawk V2 Soap was MDC Vetiver Brush was the Wee Scot AS was a 1:1 mix of Gents Gin and Witchhazel As much as I like the initial feel of balms my face does not need the additional moisture so going back to more traditional AS. It was a better shave with the Hawk this time. Most probably due to me being very light handed.

Thursday's ShaveCold Water Rinse Cella Crema Da Barba Jayaruh #206 Dad's Schick E3 Personna Injector CWR Cella After Shave Balm My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Cella Crema Da Barba face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Brush. I did two passes with Dad's Schick E3 razor with a Personna Injector Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Cella After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thank you. Elsewhere that first pic was called "trashy" "cringey" and "jingoistic". That was certainly not my intent. I didn't think about the picture in context of the day, but either way, its a great photo. Free college is probably very ok in the eyes of those that made the comments. Freedom, liberty and the defense thereof is not free. There is a price paid for EVERYTHING. Some understand that and some don't. And it'd ok to be proud of the home team. For the life of me I've never understood the viewpoint that nationalism is bad. Back to the topic of pics. I spend very little time on my shave photos and it shows. I always enjoy seeing yours and what you do with the various colors. Looking at yours and some of the others in the SOTD threads, I should get out of the shaving area once in awhile, and try to incorporate some different backgrounds light and for heaven's sake a little creativity. But at 5:30 in the morning, those are in short supply for me.

But at 5:30 in the morning, those are in short supply for me. I appreciate the vote of confidence. I primarily shave at night, so my time is a little more free. I get up at 0430 as it is. So, no, I wouldn't be able to even think about a SOTD pic in the mornings, let alone take one. As far as the pic goes, I don't think a lot of people even understand what the Gadsen flag is. Chris Pratt, a devout Christian (who happens to be a Hollywood actor), sported this shirt for years and just recently was seen on social media wearing the worn out shirt. Much of the uninformed called the shirt "racist". It's really unclear as to how that was misconstrued, but it is social media. He pushed back. This brought the shirt to light and the company that makes it, Forged Apparel, received media attention and a flood of orders (mine included). Pratt and Forged had no prior association or endorsement, he just liked the shirt and what it represented which was ultimately patriotism. Additionally, the company supports the Wounded Warrior Project. Like many others, I was encouraged by the overwhelming positive outcome that was sparked by ignorance and general social media vitriol. The full story of the Pratt incident can be found here. Nothing should be inferred by my choosing the Fox News source. (I am probably conservative by nature, but I'm far from being a Fox News acolyte.) Now, I understand this particular shirt with the inclusion of the timber rattler and "Don't Tread on Me" notation could be seen as militant in the context of 9/11. Surely, 9/11 brings back feelings of sadness, shock, and terror, but doesn't it also evoke some need to stand up for ones' country? Maybe even a little righteous vengeance? Ultimately, what inspired my use of the shirt poignantly combined with the "NYC" product was to take the thought of "never forget" to the next level of "never again".

I have a Gadsden flag swiss army knife. It seems we're of the same sentiment.
