I just got my new (to me) Gem Featherweight. There seems to be some play in the hinged door with a blade installed. Should the door rattle when there is a blade installed? If not, what can I adjust to eliminate the rattle?

It should fit tight. Not sure how to adjust that though. Might have to bend the spring.

Yeah I have been thinking on this one. The FW is a pretty straight ahead design. I imagine that adjusting the spring tab on the razor would be the way to approach it. Since it is loose at this point, you don't have a lot to lose to try and adjust the spring tab.
Perhaps some needle nose pliers and a little thought on which way to bend the tab might provide a cure??
If it all looks intact, and in place, try bending the spring tab and you might have a fix.
Let us know!

You could shim it and that would change nothing. Meaning you could always bend stuff later if you got tired of using the shim(s). Bear in mind I haven't actually needed to do this, so haven't tried it.
If I did try it it would be a piece cut to size so that I could drop it on top of the blade and be done with it. Meaning no complicated alignment.
A shim could be a slice of a credit card, or a piece of non-rusting metal, shim stock (brass or SS to specify two metals you could use) is sold for the use of shimming things, but you'd need to buy far more than you'd use in a lifetime if you were even a casual user of it.
I just looked at my FW to confirm... It would need to go on top of the blade. That is, between the cover and the blade. Thickness wouldn't matter as long as it's thick enough to take up the slack. Frankly, I'd use a piece of a plastic card.
Edit: added the last sentence
