I am sitting here waiting on my home nurse visit in about 10 minutes. I am feeling really good. I ditched the oxy Wednesday. Thursday was a little wonky, but today I am feeling really good. I think OTC pain meds will do the job for me. I am happy that the wife does not have to interrupt her sleep to give me meds now. It is good for her to get her sleep. She continues to do a saint's work for me. Thank you all for your support.

My home nurse came and gave me a thorough check out. I am doing great. I hope to get out with the wife today and cruise Wally-World in one of their scooters.

I'm coming along. I am down to three Aleves a day. I am still non-weightbearing which gets in the way of normal, but I want to be a good boy and not undo anything the doc fixed. So, for now I am getting around on a walker. I go back to him on Dec 4. Hopefully I will be able to progress then. I am pretty much sleeping through the night and only getting up once to pee. The last of my steri-strips came off yesterday and my scar is looking pretty good. It is still healing, too. Not driving. Still taking a modified shower on a bench. I am looking forward to getting back to normal.

Hey, those showers with a bench aren't always a bad thing. We have one being put in our new house that's being built. I always figured it like this, never stand when you can sit..... You take care my friend!

I'm still looking forward to being able to reach my feet. I still need SWMBO for that.

I met with the surgeon last Wednesday, and I have been off the walker and onto a cane. I haven't taken a pain pill for the last 12 days. I am starting PT on Thursday for strengthening and whatever else they say. I can drive now, but I am sharing that duty with SWMBO. The Lord has been very gracious to me. I think of that fall and know things could have gone way far south for me. I am blessed to be alive and mobile. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I go back to the surgeon in about 5 weeks, and he anticipates I will be well healed by then.

I think of that fall and know things could have gone way far south for me. I am blessed to be alive and mobile. Glad to hear you are mending well. You are very fortunate indeed. I had a friend several years ago (gosh...going on 15 or 20 years ago) who fell down the stairs and died in the accident. He was 35 years old. It was a terrible shock. We are more fragile then we imagine ourselves to be. I think back to my teens and twenties and I just shake my head at some of the stuff I did...its a wonder any of us survive past 25! I'm happy you're recovering well and hope for continued milestones in your recovery!
