October 7th A great daily-double....2 Gems, no waiting. Here are the details: First pass with Gem Zinn Automatic sporting a Proline B-20 Second pass with Gem Open Comb Damaskeene and a GEM SS PTFE blade (9th shave) Witch Hazel touch-up pass -- same as the last -- OC Dammy Soap: Modern Williams -- one day I'll get my hands on some vintage Brush: Omega 10077 boar -- I can lather Williams with anything, but it REALLY likes a boar!

Gem 1912 (Tibam handle)/Gem PTFE I really like the look of the Tibam handles -- I take it you like yours? I suspect you do, since you don't strike me as a guy who uses stuff he doesn't like . I've been hemming-and-hawing about picking one up, and when I checked the other day and it seems their popularity has driven the price up from the last time I checked....that's what I get for procrastinating.

I have two (the other brass), and yes love both.

The Black Pearl has been knotted and has set sail. This knot makes a monster face lather and is silky soft . When I pick it up , I dont want to put it down. On another note ....its seems strange not seeing Jim jayaruh opening up the SOTD this week. Hope he is doing well.

I finished my shave this morning and kept checking the forum before it finally hit me why we didn't have a new SOTD week set up. Jim always has it setup the night before with his Monday shave preview. It felt really weird creating this thread...hopefully he'll be back soon. He sent a note this morning: News from Jayaruh.

Dear God . I remember Fuzzy saying in a video that Jim took a fall but I didnt realize it was from the top of a ladder. Its not the same without his presence on here .

I experienced the same thing. By a strange twist of fate, I actually had time to enter my shave this morning before going to work. Sometimes I do it from the bus, but now that I'm using Postimages, it's just much easier to do from the computer than my phone. I arrived and found no thread and then realized why the thread wasn't there.
