While I'm not a head shaver yet (I definitely see it in my future), I wouldn't hesitate to use an SE...especially a lather catcher (yeah, I know...easy for me to say). But here's my rationale, I would think the easy-to-find-and-keep shallow angles of SE would make it easier to shave areas where I couldn't see as well (e.g., back of head). And I find that lather catchers (especially the Ever-Ready's and GEM Jr Bars) to be fairly mild shavers. I also find that after using lather catchers, I usually clog up my other razors with stubble and lather -- I just get used to not having to rinse the blade every two seconds -- which to me would be a big plus if I were shaving my giant head.
Let us know how it goes, and perhaps an actual head shaver will weigh-in soon.

My first head shave was with an Autostrop VC1. All easier from there 😃. Love my MMOC and injector blade equipped Enders equally well on my head. Shaving daily.

I have an unmentionable that does daily duty on my dome. Perhaps I should give an SE a try? I tend to get into a grove with my head shaves as I consider that routine and not a part of the "zen" that is my daily face shave. That might change if I branched out and tried some new things, but I don't think I'll ever consider my head shave as anything other than a necessary grooming measure...

That's interesting, I never thought of it that way. My face is the only thing I shave, and I always assumed that all head shavers just considered their head shave as a part of the face shave.....and perhaps some do; but now that I think of it, many head shavers do seem to use a different razor or blade system for their heads than they do for their face. I'm not sure how many more years I have before I join the ranks of head-shaving, but I'm sure it won't be very long. I'll let you all know where I land when I do.

When I shave my noggin I use SE. I can't remember which MM model I used, but it was definitely a MM. Might have been the clog-pruf. When I first shaved it after a buzz cut I used a Featherweight and that was a mistake. It kept clogging and I didn't recognize what was happening. The clog-pruf works so much better.
Fuzzy, I'm sure I wrote this previously. I have some scars on my head too and the razor took a few slices of scar tissue. I don't know if it grew back or resulted in a permanent reduction.

Why would I want to shave off perfectly good hair?

Very easy maintenance and it's much cooler. It grows back.
Oh and you know about faceturbating? This gives the entire noggin.
