I just got the news that about 5PM (2 hours from now) I will be transported to Blueridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hendersonville. It is about thirty five miles from here, but only about 5 miles from my home. The wife took some pictures of my leg today. Now I see why my ankle is sore. See them all here: jrshaving.blogspot.com/2019/10/the-leg-6-days-after-impact.html

Maybe next time you should enter the two legged division in the ass kicking contest so you can distribute the damage more equally Praying for a great recovery for you. I guess I was expecting to see a cast of some sort. I assume you have a splint or something that will be on for awhile?

LOL! Yup Toby, that would work!
Work hard so that you can get home! FWIW, when I had a shattered wrist I was told by unofficial sources to push myself beyond what the therapist wanted. The wrist was in an erector set and the x-ray looked like salt and pepper, I had ground the wrist into dust. If I couldn't do something I just put it off for a bit then tried it again. Doing that I got most of the use of my wrist back and the prognosis was at best 70%. I thought 70% to be unacceptable and rejected it outright. I told the therapist that very thing during our first session, but it just didn't register, she was so accustomed to creating folks who couldn't use their limbs after she got done with them I guess. At one point I went shopping for a new therapist, one who didn't see me as someone who didn't have full use of his entire right appendage (that went over big!). My point is to follow advice, but privately push yourself. If you can't do something one day put it to the side and come back to it. You'll be amazed at how fast the body recovers and how much ability you get back. Don't listen to nay sayers.
I shoot competitively and I found that not being able to shoot anymore unacceptable, so while I couldn't do anything else I taught myself to shoot lefty. Now I can shoot either side. I was told I'd never be able to use a chain saw again. They were totally wrong. I was told that I'd have trauma arthritis, and while the wrist might not be as easily bendy as it once was there is no pain and I have almost full movement, so yet again, they were wrong. But if I had listened to the therapist I have no doubt that they would have been correct due to their assigning me to that fate and leading me to it.
