12/11/19 Pre: Pears Transparent Original Brush: Omega 63185 Pure Badger Soap: GFCC Peppermint Razor: Occam Classic V1 plate #1 Blade: Feather PB (2) Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Neroli & Orange Witch Hazel Balm: Proraso Green A/S: Proraso Green The Occam's with the #1 plate gave a very forgiving shave, 3 passes with some buffing on the more stubborn areas. At no time did it give any indication it would bite, although it did take a bit more work even with the feather PB fitted. The finish is very comfortable and BBS. I think i prefer the #2 plate, although i cannot complain about the finish. Feeling and smelling good and ready for the rest of the day. Enjoy your shaves All.

Mon 11th Nov. Yes I shaved, and it was good as to be expected when using an ER "Streamline" ,aided and abetted with Faena soap/ Cyril Salter/ MS brush. A dab of Puig Quorum to finish. PS. Some may recognise it others may not. My Avatar is a Collar Dog worn on the Service Dress of a Member of the Corp Of Royal Engineers. I served for 23+ years, and unlike those less fortunate was not called to serve in Fields of Conflict. Besides remembering the Fallen, we should do our best to ensure that those who injured are not forgotten, and recieve the best treatment - especially those who have left the Service.

Menthol Monday's Veterans Day ShaveCold Water Rinse Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap Jayaruh #313 1918 Unmentionable Unmentionable CWR Osage Rub Today, in honor of Veterans Day, I am using my 1918 US Army Unmentionable. The brush is my Vietnam ribbon brush. Happy Veterans Day to all the vets out there. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #313 Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the 1918 Army Unmentionable razor with an unmentionable blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This is Valobra Menthol Shaving Cream Soap. From Italian Barber: Valobra Mentolo Crema Sapone Purissima Almost a century ago, Virgilio Valobra established his soap manufacturing laboratory in Genoa, Italy. It was his priority to adhere strictly to the formulas and methods of the master soap manufacturers of the 18th century; the masters soap makers that had made the Riviera between Portofino and Marseille an area renewed for the finest quality soaps in the world. What separates Valobra soaps from other manufacturers is their fine processing. To preserve the precious ingredients in Valobra soaps, they have always used the ancient and expensive “boiling for strength method. Seasoning is also a very important step in the process. For at least six months, the soaps are aged and transform into a highly refined product that very gently cleanses the skin and improves it's feel. Valobra focuses on uses only the purest selected ingredients resulting in a product similar to a natural one that protects the skin. For super-rich lather a virgin coconut oil is used, from an island in the Indian Ocean. Valobra shaving cream soap is rich with natural almond oil and produces a rich and nourishing lather that promises a clean and protective shave, leaving the skin supple to the touch. It is formulated to be used with a traditional shaving brush.

I absolutely love Mer Shavings fougere orange dunkys milk soap, unfortunately it was a limited run and may not be produced again. The good thing is Mer Shaving makes a bunch of other soaps still and all of them that I have tried have been fantastic. They are available on Etsy. I'm not sure if it's ok to post a link here but if you PM me I will share it. Or if the mods say it's ok I will post it. It's kind of hard to find even when you search for it on Etsy.

Tue 12th Nov. A rather rushed Shave today as spent too much time searching for something in an overfull garage. Used an ER 1914 and with the blade on 6 the Shave was rather raspy, but I still got quite a good finish. When in a rush I often reach for the Vitos Red as it is so dependable.
