Im confused about the persona ptfe everyone seems to love. Is it a gem blade? Does anyone have a good link to the bay or amazon? I don't want to buy 100. I want as little as possible to test it out.

They are a GEM brand blades made under the Personna trademark. Made at the Accutek factory in Verona VA, same factory all of the former American Safety Razor Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel SE brands have been made for many decades. GEM. GEM Blue Star, PAL, Treet and private labels like CVS have been made there exclusively. 3 Facet edge blades have the sharpness for shaving, 2 facet edge blades are scrapers. The GEM Stainless Steel blades are made PTFE coated or uncoated. Personna GEM PTFE coated atblades.com/products/single-edge/009-single-edge-blade-14/

That's right our own Andrew (linuxguile) has 10 PTFE coated blades in his Etsy Store for only $3.00 + shipping!

They do make uncoated GEM stainless steel 3 facet edge blades. I've used them a few times in the past. They worked fine, just not quite as smooth as the Teflon coated blades. tryablade.com sells singles of the uncoated as well as the PTFE coated GEM stainless blades.

That's way too much money for a 100 pack.

When you compare it with a 10 pack from the drug store for $6.99, it looks pretty good.

Connaught Shaving----200 Gems $22.00 fast service and reasonable shipping. (can buy 100 @ $11.00) I can't afford Calif vendors because of Sharps Shipping Tax (state tax).

Good grief! As mlb549 said, look at Connaught Shaving: connaughtshaving.com/gemss.htmlThey are based in the UK, but their shipping to the US is reasonable. My minimum supply of 400 GEMs is from there. The owner is a nice guy as well. Highly recommended. Put some British soap samples in the basket while you're there.

+1 for Connaught and it is way too easy to push the basket up to get free shipping!
