The Gillette treo. It is single blade open comb, head pivots and the handle doubles as a container of shave gel. I'm interested to try it. It's designed with medical care in mind to shave patients. But I think it could be good for anyone. I saw a YouTube review and they talked about how smooth it was. I'm sure it's a mild shaver for good reason. I've seen them for sale individually at my local drug store. Thoughts? PS: the guy on the video said Gillette should integrate this into their regular razors. But then he said just with five blades. Poor soul he almost had a revelation.

It's an all in one unmentionable(Fuzzy was here). It's not made to have the head be replaced and reused.

The Gillette techmatic and Schick band razors are just as much Unmentionable razors. I mean that is a good debate. What makes the cut as a real razor and what distinguishes razors like the band razors from later unmentioonables.(Fuzzy was here)

So my take on what makesplastic garbage unmentionable(Fuzzy was here) razors bad. First bad shaves due to unnecessary, clogging and irritating multi blade setups. Plus waste and somewhat of a lack of skill to use them as well as cost.

I will agree that there is a coolness factor in the old razors that is unmatched by the new stuff. But a single edge open comb razor for 1.50 catches my interest. Other YouTubers and forum have users doing shaves with two blade and other unmentionable vintage razors. I have a taste for a bit of everything I suppose. I prefer vintage and don't use modern cartridges.

I prefer vintage and don't use modern cartridges. My local Target has the Treo. It's interesting for what it is and it's intended audience. So imagine you are taking care of your dad and he wants a real shave with a real razor. It's one thing to shave yourself when you get feedback, but quite another to do it for someone else. I think this razor will be an absolute hit for it's target market. I'm sure it's designed to be mild and hard to nick someone with. I shaved with an unmentionable recently that has a single blade. It's basically a plastic Injector. It isn't allowed here, but that doesn't mean I would't use one if I like and it would make a great razor if I need to fly without checked bags. The shave was excellent. The razor itself brought no fond memories, is no joy to hold or behold, but if I just rate it on how well it shaved, I find no fault and it's better than some of my vintage stuff that is allowed to be posted here. Sometimes the shave is just about making long whiskers short and less about the tools to do it with. That's what grandpa was about. I let people here know what works for me and I won't discount something that works for someone else just because it isn't my cup of tea.

I'm surprised it's for sale in the USA at all. It's too inexpensive. Normally they like to soak us for as much as they can. They market the inexpensive gear to the less affluent. They'd love to soak them as well, but it needs to start out slowly. When they are more affluent the inexpensive razors will be phased out. But in the meantime they take them for what they can.

I have used the Gillette Guard. It’s really good. You can buy it online many vendors carry it. I get great shaves with it. I can get a great shave with a Bic disposable. It’s all in the technique. You don’t need a $500 razor. I have posted on other forums hat I can get greats shaves with a 99 cent disposable razor. What does Fussy say “a razor is a razor, a blade is a blade” or something like that. Fuzzy will say it's CART GARBAGE! Personally I've had my fill in the past of disposable pieces of plastic with a blade in it.

I didn't write it, but I gave up shaving for one winter out of the boredom of plastic razor shaves with canned goop. The shaves were good, but the razors kept clogging and the chore was b_o_r_i_n_g! Soon after that I got into real shaving.
As far as travel razors go there are plenty of SE travel kits available from 75 years ago that were specifically designed for travel. I have a bunch of them and I bet everyone here does also. If one doesn't want to lose a kit like that one can be assembled with a razor one doesn't mind losing. I put one together using an unmentionable and it holds enough blades for a very long trip indeed. I make it aggressive enough for my taste by shimming the blade.
I bet West Coast Shaving will be served a cease and desist order once Gillette gets wind of the sale of them. Similar things have happened before to other retailers. Gillette does NOT want the inexpensive stuff to be sold where they have invested huge amounts of cash to convince folks that the latest expensive louvred cartridge is what they should be buying.

The one thing though, is that if you don't check luggage, you can't carry on any blades for "real" razors so you have to count on finding what you need at your destination, which if you are on a business trip with a tight schedule is probably a no go. Hence the usefulness of an unmentionable that at least still just has one blade and can be packed in a carry on.

I highly doubt that since amazon and Walmart sell them online.
