Just that. Happy Thanksgiving Day!
For those not in the USA, the holiday came about with the Pilgrims to celebrate their first harvest in the new world. The story goes that the native Americans also showed up (and possibly brought most of the meal). But for whatever the reason the Pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts had the first one to give thanks to the Almighty for what He had given them. I assume freedom was high on the list of what they gave thanks for. We celebrate it to this day and the reasons are the same; to give thanks to the Almighty for what He has provided us.
The traditional meal consists of a roast turkey with all the sides and also traditionally it's a family get together.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone, whether you celebrate it or not! (Do you celebrate a version of it even if not this time of year?)

Toting the Glock 22 today as primary, but I do have the S&W .32 revolver riding in an ankle holster. The Mrs, is toting Col. Colt today. Won't be too bad, no heavy alcohol, just some brews so we should be good.

I didn't mention it earlier but will now since the day is over. I'm in ketosis ans wanted to stay there despite the meal. Try cooking a Thanksgiving Day meal without using carbs! But I've been experimenting with this here and that there for the past few months. Today it all came together and the wife pronounced it delicious. I thought so too. I think it's the first low carb meal the wife has ever eaten but it won't be the last. I have more self education to do to get to where I want to be in cooking a keto diet, equivalent to where I was when I was eating carbs, but I'll get there.

Alan, Plymouth colony was also where socialism was tried in what is today the US. It was tried for the first year and was a dismal failure. They starved after that harvest. The next year they went to a system more like what we have today and it worked. What a surprise.

Big slabs of BBQ pork and collard greens is all you ever need! Wash it down with unsweetened green tea that's kept in the refrigerator.

But for us the traditional TD dinner is turkey, dressing, and gotta have homemade cranberry sauce. The stuff in a can is just vile. I have suggested other TD dinners in the past but the wife won't buy onto that idea. I need to try that green tea. How much dry tea to how much water? She's more flexible for Christmas.

I use green tea bags from the grocery store, four tea bags in 4 to 6 cups of water in the microwave for about 8 minutes. After it cools down a bit pour into a gallon "jug" and fill with water. Put it in the refrigerator. I go through a gallon a day, you can make it sweet tea if you wish just add sugar as to your liking.
