I picked up a 1924 recently and really enjoy the shave. Unfortunately, I am quickly souring on it as the edge of the blade sticks out behind the stops. I have nicked myself on a regular basis using this razor from the corner of the blade. Is this an issue with the razor using modern blades, adjusting my technique, or possibly something out of whack with my particular example? Here it is on a BRW Improved handle using a grub screw as adapter. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
I am using Gem stainless PTFE purchased form Connaught in the 100 pack. Yes I was having the issue regardless of handle used. I have used it with a 1912 handle, the original travel sized handle, and this one as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by the blade sticking out behind the stops but sometimes you see one where the blade isn't being pushed under the stops tightly. Those two little wings on the underside of the cap that are part of the brass clasp can be adjusted to push against the spine of the blade more. Just take a small flat bladed screw driver and bend those wings out forward bit. It's a very simple razor design which I like because there's not much that can go wrong mechanically.
Thanks for the input. I tuned the spring under the cap a bit. The blade looks like it was slightly off center with maybe a sixteenth of an inch sticking out behind the right blade stop. I also took some dental floss and cleaned the blade stops out in case there was any crud in there. I will give a shot again tomorrow. Again thanks for the input.

9nein9: To like or not to like the like button? That is the question. Our society thrives off the like button it seems . I'm not sure if I like it or I don't like it.Just kind of got used to it .

carlfrommo: Hey guys. Last minute question here. What shot size should I use for flying reindeer?

ordinaryshaver: You want to use 3 1/2 in magnum lead shot, in size T. Problem solved.

ordinaryshaver: No steel, too light and use an extra full choke, unless you have a good blind setup

carlfrommo: Well, last night was a failure. I had one shot, and I didn't lead the red-nosed one enough. I think I ended up shooting the driver. Might have gotten him in the leg. Hard to tell because he was wearing red pants and coat.

carlfrommo: He turned his sled away and landed on the roof two blocks down. Out of range for a second shot. I did notice he walked with a bit of a limp though. He shouldn't be coming in my yard anyway.

mrconklin: Last time I hunted waterfowl. 2 3/4 shells were standard and the cool kids were starting to play with the 3 inch, but most guns weren't made for them. Steel was also just starting to be mandated on Federal and State land.
