I mentioned this in the kick off thread, but what about using unmodified modern blades in a system designed for a now defunct proprietary blade system?
I am able to use an unmodified injector blade in Christy razors with great success. The proprietary blade is much larger then an injector, but the injector perfectly bumps up against the blade stops allowing them to be used without modification. It is sometimes necessary to adjust the razor to increase the "pinch" so that the blade doesn't slide off the blade stops but this isn't usually an issue as it just requires a little bending of the metal and can usually be done without heating up the metal...but if required a little boiling water and some leather gloves are enough to reach the temp to lightly bend the metal.
I'm sure that there are other examples of proprietary blade work arounds without the requirement to modify the blade...like FHS-10 blades in later model Valet razors which accommodate for the cutouts in the razor. Of course having to use an FHS-10 quickly becomes the new problem.
🤢
Other examples?

Sort of the 'square peg, round hole' theory. I like it.

Never tried it, but I've read that injector blades work in Micromatics.

Instead of pushing from the slots of a GEM style blade, the razor bushes the back of the injector blade.

Hope this works on TNNSER3D too ... I'd really love to use Injector blade in it.

Hope this works on TNNSER3D too ... I'd really love to use Injector blade in it. Interesting thought, but I'm having difficulty thinking of how that would work. I don't think the TNNNSER3D has any blade stops, and I thought the blade was primarily held in place with the bumps in the middle of the base plate which catch the Gem blade cut-outs.....but perhaps I'm missing something.

Shave with the Christy from this morning. Great shave.
Shave with micromatic flying wing and injector blade. It works... but why?
