Thur 2nd Jan
Jayaruh Syn. No6 Lea Classic soap ATT SE1 Schick Proline [ 4 ] Lea Classic soap
My first Shave of 2020 but my second in a seated position I managed over the weekend to trip coming downstairs, and am now in a boot with crutches I have a fractured fibula.I have to rest and avoid standing. After 3 days I felt so grungy that I had a seated Shave at the wash hand basin using a computer chair and travel mirror.Though normally a daily shaver I think thatI will cut down on Shaves, as moving shaving gear is a bit of a chore
This second shave was in fact very good, as the unusual shaving position made me concentrate on technique so that eveything was trouble free. Not as bad as trying to Shave in a hospital bed when in the Army.
A belated " Happy New Year" to everybody.

Friday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Vintage Life Morning TOST Jayaruh #30 Russian SHaDE Razor Personna Half Blade Schick Repeating Type C Schick Proline B-20 CWR Pinaud Clubman AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Vintage Life Morning TOST face lathered well with Jayaruh #30 Brush. I did two passes today using two different razors. I used the Russian SHaDE Razor with a Personna Half Blade on the right side and the Schick Repeating Type C razor with a Schick Proline blade on the left side and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. The Russian SHaDE razor did very well. It is nimble and very easy to use. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Saturday 4th January Clubman Shave Butter (Pre Shave) Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Soap Alexander Simpson Trafalgar T3 Synthetic Brush Schick I1 with a Proline B Simple Facial Toner Nivea 2Phase AS As I have had a really bad cold for a few days I decided I needed some Wintergreen and Menthol to clear my head! Simpson Brushes appear to be branching out with their branding. There are Simpson Brushes with the decal, Simpsons Brushes which have printed handles and Alexander Simpson Brushes which are their lower end Synthetics. Today's brush is actually very nice. A knot size similar to the Chubby2 Synthetic with Soverign Fibre, no glue bump and no stated place of Origin. The handle is beautiful!. 3 passes for a lovely shave....not perfect as I find most menthol soaps to be quite drying.....but at least I can breath again!

Wednesday 1st January Vitos Pre Shave Wickham 1912 Scottish Heather Soap Simpson Commodore X3 Badger Brush Broman SE Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber Creighton's Moisturiser Grey Flannel EDT My planned week for Unmentionable razors came to an abrupt halt with the arrival of my Broman SE. In use similar to the Focus R48 but without the learning curve for fitting a blade. 3 passes for a fantastic finish. I should comment that as the soap was so slick....there was very little blade feel after the first pass but stubble was still evident in the shaved off lather. (Use of this razor in TOST2 has been pre approved by Fuzzy) I hope everyone has a Happy and Prosperous 2020. Glad it worked for you!!

Sunday 5th January Clubman Shave Butter (Pre Shave) P&B Achilles Last Stand Shaving Soap Alexander Simpson Trafalgar T3 Synthetic Brush Turkish Copper Hammam Schick I1 with a Proline B Simple Facial toner Creighton's Moisturiser Oud Khalifa EDP A late post as the internet has been down all day. That also gave my wife (on a New Year cleaning spree) the opportunity to 'tidy up' my kit....thus ensuring no more shaves from my current blade:meh: 3 passes for a 'Face Feeler'
