My spreadsheet reports the following statistics for 2019: Shaves: 104 Again fewer than 2018 (167) or 2017 (277) Most used Razors: Micromatic OC - 35 Fashion Razor - 24 Ever-Ready 1912 - 17 The Micromatic has been the star of 2019. Bought in March it has rocketed to the top of the list. Most used unmentionable Razors: Unmentionable - 3 Unmentionable - 2 Both pass around razors. None of my own was used. Not a good year for unmentionables. Most used very unmentionable razors: - None, nada, not a single one. This will change. I just bought an interesting one. Most used Blades: GEM stainless - 60 Vintage Schick Super Krona - 12 Japanese Twin Injector - 9 Most used Brushes: JR 305 - 75 Muehle 35K256 - 15 Yaqi Badger - 11 I use Jim's big brush almost exclusively now. Most used Soaps: Tabac Original - 45 Faena Mastic - 19 Speick RC - 18 Tabac still rules Most used Aftershaves: Alcolado Glacial - 26 Tuff Sensitiv - 20 Cella Colonia Classica - 13 A warm summer and I'm out of Tabac. Shave of the year 2019:
- Tabac Original Soap
- JR 305 brush
- Micromatic OC
- GEM stainless blade
- Alocolado Glacial

That does look like an awesome shave of the year. Glad to see you are loving the JR 305.That is a big brush. That's the one. Awesome brush. Your web site says the knot is either 30mm or 31mm, but my calipers insist on 32mm. I do four-pass-shaves, so bigger is better It also helps to get through the ridiculous amount of soap I have. My search is over. Thank you, Jim.

Interesting post Andreas. I just started using an app to track my shaves, I wish I had started sooner it would be nice to compare year to year. Glad to hear you are enjoying your JR brush...I have two on the way and can't wait to use them!

I had a spreadsheet of my shaves from 2012 on my computer. About two weeks ago, my computer died, and I lost all my data including the spreadsheet.

I really did not plan my shave today to be a shave of the year, but it would be up there. I broke out the Schick C, and because it was Tuesday, I was using Tabac products. To add to it, I lathered with my JR #20 silvertip badger with RS 400 handle. So, it was a shave for the year.

I really did not plan my shave today to be a shave of the year, but it would be up there. I didn't either. After I shaved I realized it was the last one of 2019. And maybe I misunderstood the intent. This was just a SOTD for me, but a good one all the same. Happy 2019 all and hope 2020 is even better.

My shave today was my old Schick injector g1 and barbasol and Clubman AS. Most days it's just a one pass shave for work.

If you aren't tracking your shaves it provides some interesting insight into the hobby. If you use it you'll want to upgrade to "pro" which I believe was $5. Worth it to me, YMMV.
