So a while back a gentleman across the street took an unmentionable and turned it into a SE. Well sir Fuzzy ( wchnu) mentioned that now all it needed was an open comb...well here is my feeble attempt. It takes half an unmentionable blade with the side tabs removed. I am going to give it a try for my next shave. I am not a machinist and really don't have the tools for final polishing but it will do.

My heart is broken. I have repaired many of those, straightening teeth, replacing a tooth on one, repairing split handles (solder, not some glue mess) and I bet you killed a good one. Looks like a '20's thick cap with a good handle. And you don't have anything that you didn't have before, only less of it.

The handle is from another razor with Nov. 5, 04 on it that I have in a cased set. I also have another razor that has etched advertising on the top cap.

I think you did a fine job. Looks like it might be a mild shaver.

It will probably shave exactly as it did before, he destroyed a 100 year old razor for no good reason, other than to show it off on a forum.

So there is zero loss. I for one applaud people with the will to try something. This is a hobby and in my mind you should have fun doing your hobby. I am glad he showed it off. I might give it a go with one of my 100 year old unmentionables. Tom
